First of February & Black History Month 
perfect timing as my MFA diploma came in over the weekend 
a week to the day of my grandma’s passing. It still feels unreal to have lost her and my step-grandpa in one day 
the last picture I posted of us on my graduation day makes this a little bitter sweet – but definitely more on the sweet side.
#BeTheChange – I am so proud of this accomplishment and have so many incredible things in store. I am excited to continue to make my grandma proud and I look forward to celebrating her life/laying her and my step-grandpa to rest during this beautiful month. My mom has declared it her bday month too lol Through the tears and sadness, I know there’s a lot to look forward to and a lot of impactful work I have to do.
So, here’s to my ancestors (and being their wildest dreams), to history, to peace, to healing, to my degree 
(so thankful for my dope program led by Patrisse Cullors!!), and to continuing to chart my own path of greatness, inspire others & make a difference.
