DPS & Think 360 Performing Arts Intensive – Teaching Artist Trainer

That’s me! Had a great time the past 2 weeks at Denver School of the Arts for 2 different engagements πŸ’– training educators one week for the DPS & Think 360 Performing Arts Immersive and then Guest Speaking for the precious Black & Brown girls of the RISE STEM from Dance Program 🌟 Both engagements were incredible – from the teachers and all their heart & soul, to the young girls I got to be an inspiration, guide, and reflection for. And man, did they ask some important questions πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

My weeks are always so jam-packed with different things and I am so grateful to use my gifts as an artist, educator, activist, advocate, speaker and really just being a light in the world. One of the teachers asked how I maintained my infectious energy and I had shared how I just lost 2 of my cousins only weeks ago, and they couldn’t believe it. They just couldn’t believe I was even there with such presence, light, and positivity, when I’d have every right to be at home. Folks from Heritage Camp where I spent the week prior said the same. πŸ’–

Those have been important, reflective moments for me. Some things; resilience, peace, positivity, energy, you just can’t teach. And having the capacity to show up under various circumstances, and have people say how much I have impacted or inspired them for life…wow. That in and of itself is therapeutic in a way I didn’t even realize. I am just so grateful. πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸŒŸπŸ’ƒπŸΎ
